Information about what’s going on in the world of family business keeps growing. Two Australian surveys have recently been released, the MGI/RMIT Australian Family and Private Business Survey and the KPMG/FBA Family Business Survey 2013 conducted by Adelaide University. The surveys are independent and address different aspects of family business, so reviewing the results in tandem leads to some interesting insights. Read more...

When it comes to family business there is a saying that's common around the world. In some countries it's 'shirtsleeves to shirtsleeves in three generations', in others it's 'clogs to clogs...' in China they talk about how the first generation creates the wealth, the second lives off it and the third generation waste it.
